Title: Every Cyber professional should read Bhagavad Geeta once : Dr. PVR, CEO & Dr. Rxashmi Thhakur CSR and Media Director M/s PVR Consolidation Private Ltd.

The Bhagavad Gita offers valuable insights that can be applied to the field of cybersecurity. By understanding concepts such as dharma, equanimity, knowledge, detachment, and faith, cybersecurity professionals can develop a more holistic and effective approach to protecting digital assets.

The Bhagavad Gita and India's cyber laws, particularly the Information Technology (IT) Act, 2000, may seem worlds apart at first glance. One is an ancient spiritual text, while the other is a modern legal framework. However, both play crucial roles in guiding human behavior and societal norms.

The Concept of Dharma and Cybersecurity

Dharma, a central concept in the Bhagavad Gita, refers to one’s duty or righteousness. It is the path that leads to fulfillment and liberation. In the context of cybersecurity, dharma can be interpreted as the ethical obligation to protect digital information and system

Sanskrit: मनः स्थिरं इन्द्रियं निरुद्धं चित्तं निरमदम् । यस्य स्थितं यस्य स्थितं यस्य स्थितं यस्य स्थितं यस्य स्थितं यस्य स्थितं ।

English: "For him who has conquered his mind, whose mind is steady, the Self is always satisfied; and such a one, even while living here, attains the bliss of Brahman."

This shloka emphasizes the importance of equanimity or steadiness of mind. In the face of cyber threats, cybersecurity professionals must maintain a calm and composed demeanor. Panicking or losing focus can lead to errors and vulnerabilities. By cultivating equanimity, one can effectively respond to challenges and make sound decisions.

Shloka 18.66: The Power of Knowledge

Sanskrit: सर्व कर्माणि मनः निरहङ्कारं कर्माणि कुर्वन्नात्मनः । निष्कामः सर्वदा स्यात् कर्मफलेषु निवृत्तः ॥

English: "Having renounced all desires, and abandoned all attachments, and having given up the sense of doership, act with a sense of detachment, O Arjuna."

This shloka highlights the significance of knowledge and detachment. In the context of cybersecurity, knowledge is crucial for understanding threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures. Detachment from the outcomes of one’s actions is essential for making objective decisions and avoiding impulsive behavior.

Shloka 16.21: The Nature of Tamas

English: "Tamas, born of ignorance, covers the intellect of the embodied being, obscuring his knowledge. He becomes deluded, and his mind is confused."

This shloka warns against the influence of tamas, or ignorance. In cybersecurity, ignorance of best practices and emerging threats can lead to vulnerabilities. Staying informed and continuously learning is essential for maintaining a strong security posture.

Shloka 18.61: The Importance of Faith

English: "Having faith in Me, surrender to Me all your thoughts and actions, and I shall liberate you from all sins. Worry not."

This shloka underscores the importance of faith. In cybersecurity, faith in one’s ability to protect digital assets is crucial. Overcoming doubts and maintaining a positive mindset can enhance resilience and effectiveness.

**Key Benefits to Public & Government

Complaint Handling* Tracks*

If the complaint or case has been registered for providing quick support and solutions to cyber warriors and SHE Teams, The TS-WSW can develop a multi-model complaint combating approach.

 Digital Forensic Track

The lab has forensic tools and capabilities to handle crime scene management. These tools will aid in collecting and preserving the computer evidence, seize mobile devices & external peripherals, collect CCTV footage and analyse Cyber Predator's Network Traffic.

This multi-folded approach will help LEAs build effective and fool proof cases against Cyber Harasser/ Predators and traffickers for conviction.

 Cyber Investigative Track

Anonymity tools used by the cyber criminals creates a big challenge for the investigating officers to trace the criminals and bring them to justice in the cyber world.

In regard to the same, the Lab is incorporated with advanced tools to trace the cybercriminals.

Online Intelligence & CSAM Monitoring Track

The lab will use free, open source and customised tools, techniques and methods to generate online intelligence by scrapping and harvesting methods.

This track keeps monitoring the Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) by Honeypot and Trap Techniques.

 Suspect Profiling and Report Generation

The lab will use advanced cyber intelligence and scrapping techniques, and generate predictive and actionable intelligence by making suspect profiling against harassers, predators and pedophiles. The lab can act as a catalyst in the investigation process for district cyber labs.
